Shawna and Brendan at The English Inn
Here at Details we absolutely love a beautiful fall wedding! The vibrant colours of the leaves, the crisp feeling in the air and the invigorating scents of heart warming dishes. It takes us right back to this gorgeous day in October at the English Inn with Shawna and Brendan. A couple that has a special place in our hearts, one that we have gotten to known over the past year and a half while planning their wedding and one that makes us feel so grateful to be able to do what we do.
Wedding Ambassador, Genius, Soothsayer and Master of Beauty were just a few of the flattering nick names Shawna referred to us as. She had all of the vendors labelled as her "Wedding Family". This couple just has a way of opening their hearts to everyone they meet, it truly felt like one big happy family. Once we had all of our family members on board we were able to come up with the design and theme of the wedding. Think “Secret Garden”. We used lots of moss, greenery and Shawna's favourite, hanging Amaranthus, which we included in her bouquet as well as hung from the reception room chandelier.
We swapped photos, Pintrest boards, phone calls and many emails to bring this day together. The bouquet featured unique garden blooms with tons of texture and style. Deep crimson and plum tones complimented the 'not so matching' bridesmaids dresses...a beautiful trend we are so happy to embrace! We brought in vintage lanterns and 100th century books to add character to the tables while filling any empty space with moss and English ivy. Shawna wanted to have a seating chart where her guests could find their names and replace them with a Polaroid selfie so we sourced out an old vintage door, stained it and attached antique hinges and twine to hang the beautifully crafted place cards to.
All of the hand crafted stationary was done by Laura at Tuktu Paper Co. Who seems to have a knack for getting inside our head and producing exactly what we want. The plum wax seals and burnt orange accents were absolutely perfect. In order to bring in Brendan's love for Star Wars, we had the tables named after Star Wars ships...it doesn't get much cooler than that!
The room was quickly filled with the scent of delicious food provided by Toque Catering who also made candy apples as favors for the guests...yum!! The highlight of the night had to be the pie and sundae bar! The Pie Company made a variety of mouth watering pies accompanied with Toque's sundae bar and hot apple cider from Sea Cider. Nothing says fall like hot apple cider and fresh pies.
We are delighted to share these photos and video with you of this unforgettable fall wedding.
All the best to Shawna and Brendan and we look forward to seeing them again! Thank you to all of the talented vendors who helped make this day one to remember.
