Details at Don Mee
My beautiful bride was prepared with photos of what she wanted, everything decked out in purple which happens to be my favorite color. Calla Lilies and Dendrobium Orchids kept the Asian flare to the decor while the rest remained more Westernized.
In Chinese culture the food is served family style on a large rotating tray in the center of the table, sometimes up to 10 plates are out at once. For this reason we went with a small, narrow vase of flowers for the centerpieces which could easily be removed during dinner. It's important to know your menu and venue when putting together your wedding design. If a family style meal is important to you, your centerpieces must accommodate.
The Chuppah arch is a beautiful accent to any ceremony and we loved being able to bring it back and set it up at Don Mee as well. It is tradition in the Chinese culture for the guests to have their photos taken with the couple under an arch as they enter the reception.
Another stunning piece of the wedding was the five tiered cake made by Jo Ann of Tiers of Joy. It towered next to the head table and featured gorgeous calla lily sugar flowers cascading down the side.
The night was a success and the tear down was the fastest I have ever seen! Don Mee had an army of staff prepared to flip the room so they could be open again in the morning for service.
